SAID THE WHALE

I’ve been working with the fine folks in Vancouver based indie rock band, Said the Whale, since creating a gig poster for their 2019 cross-Canada tour. Since then we’ve made plenty of merch together, especially during the pandemic lockdown years when you had to get a little creative to play music and sell shirts and posters.

When Said the Whale put out their latest record, Dandelion, I was given the opportunity to create a lineup of merchandise to accompany the pre-sale. And with album artwork that’s so as striking as Dandelion, that’s a fun challenge to take on. We came up with posters, shirts, tote bags, and more that had this nature theme infused in a retro, Wes Andersen-inspired vibe.

One exciting piece of merchandise I was thrilled to make was this design for a skateboard deck, which was a collaboration with the west coast skate company, Landyachtz. Go to the Landyachtz section for an in-depth look at this board design and more.

While the Dandelion themed work was quite extensive, we often work together on a single one off t shirt or poster, and these are stand-alone beauties as well. Here’s a few from over the years:

Some posters may still be available for purchase in my store, head there to check them out!
