PERSONAL: Wildlife of Nova Scotia Series
Sometimes, when things aren’t too busy, I get to be my own client and design some of my own art prints, clothing, and home decor. The Wildlife of Nova Scotia series is an ongoing and ever-expanding series of offset lithograph prints that I research, design, and illustrate by hand. They depict the species that can be found throughout my home province.
While these posters are by no means the entirety of wildlife that can be found in the province, they are well-researched and accurate depictions of some of the many species that call Nova Scotia home. The research into each piece is as much fun as drawing them.
Wildlife of Nova Scotia is inspired by naturalists like Darwin, Audubon, and Haeckel, who created beautiful imagery of the creatures they were studying.
All illustrations in the Wildlife of Nova Scotia are drawn by hand in a style meant to look like naturalists field studies, and the notebooks of nature loving artists like Beatrix Potter.
The Wildlife of Nova Scotia series will continue and include even more critters from my own backyard, and eventually extend beyond Nova Scotia, across Canada, and who knows maybe even into other countries!
Wildlife of Nova Scotia prints are not limited edition, it’s an ongoing educational and artistic series that is always available in my online shop and at stockists across Nova Scotia.
